The lip seal

A daytime habit that quietly carries into the night.

Why it happens

The night follows the day. A mouth that stays gently closed through the day is far more likely to stay closed while you sleep.

The steps

  1. Through the day, let your lips rest lightly together — touching, not pressed.
  2. Breathe in and out through your nose.
  3. Set a few reminders at first. Every time you notice your mouth open, simply close it.
  4. Build it in calm moments before you expect it while walking or working.
Take care.

If you cannot breathe comfortably through your nose, do not force the seal. A blocked nose needs clearing first.
